Local Hoops: More Than Just a Game
Local Hoops is driven by a passion for basketball and a commitment to unite people around the world through the sport. Their mission is simple yet profound: to create a global community centered around basketball, fostering connections, and encouraging growth on and off the court. Through their Court Renovation program, they have made significant strides in bringing people together, reinforcing community, and improving much needed public spaces.
Expanding the Mission in Philly
As a Philly-based brand, we take immense pride in our local roots. Our city is known for its rich basketball culture and vibrant community spirit. Public parks are the backbone of our neighborhoods, serving as safe spaces where children play, families gather, and future athletes take their first shots. We want to nurture our hometown kids' dreams, whether they're practicing their “buzzer beater” shots for future Big 5 rivalry games (go Wildcats), perfecting their crossover moves like Sixers great Allen Iverson, or waking up early to get in those jump shots like Lower Merion’s own NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.
We believe in giving back to the community that has supported us and nurtured our growth. That’s why, we’re committing to donating 1% of proceeds from the sale of our Local Hoops x Spruce Street Mesh Shorts to support community parks in Philadelphia.
